Can I be forced to sell my shares?

The company that I work for wants 100% ownership. They are sending me letters saying that I MUST either transfer them to the company, or sell them, and if I do not agree to do one within x number of days, one will be chosen for me. There seems to be no option for me to keep them, but surely I can't be forced to sell them. After all, they're MY shares.
